Power supplyAcer aspire XC-1660 i

Hi I have the Acer aspire XC-1660 i have transferred all the internals from it into a bigger case for gaming I just need to know what the maximum power supply unit i can have I have bought a 760 WATT power supply but not sure if it will burn the motherboard as cant seem to find answers anywhere

  • The problem is not the power or the source current. You have to check that the output voltage is the same as the original power supply: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/660057/aspire-xc-1660g-psu-upgrade

    my question is that can i upgrade my power supply from the stock 300W to something bigger such as 760W i have upgraded my case but used the same internals from the acer aspire XC-1660 i was wondering can i upgrade it without the worry of breaking the motherboard

    Yes, you can upgrade it, but larger ATX12VO power supplies are really hard to find. The largest one that ships in an Acer product that I'm award of is a 500W. The 750W you are looking at is likely not the single rail 12VO supply needed.
