My cpu fried can i replace it? m3450 model

So bassically my cpu fried and i wanna know if i can just replace it with the same one or can i even upgrade too a better one ( m3450 model)

Yes, you can replace your AMD CPU but, what is the CPU that you have OEM fitted to your Aspire M3450 desktop? As the M3450 has many CPUs that that Acer has listed for it, and also with different CPU sockets like the top of the range is a Socket AM3+ with a CPU model AMD FX-8100 CPU down to the lower Socket FM1 with CPU AMD Athlon II X2 221. As a matter of a fact, there are about 50 different AMD CPUs listed for this Aspire M3450 desktop models.

And what leads you to believe the CPU fried? That is really, really unusual with modern CPUs, since they automatically shut themselves down when they get too hot.
