Hi,

The system shows that battery is 100% charged and the blue light indicating it lights up as well, but when I remove the charger it shuts off. It does not open again and needs constant power support. Attached the battery report as well. Let me know what the issue can be.

Looks like the battery hasn't been cycled in a long time. The full charge capacity could've been from years ago. Post the rest of the report if possible as a PDF if necessary.

    1. The only part of that report that makes sense given no cycling history and its behavior are between Sept 5 & 13
    2. Was it being used during that period?
    3. When was the last time you pulled the plug and it stayed on?
    4. Is this the original factory installed battery?
    5. When did you acquire the machine?

    1. Was using a different laptop from Sept 2021 till Sept 2022.
    2. Used it for a short period of time. Like once a month.
    3. Stayed on last time in June with charger plugged in. This was the original battery which deteriorated and required consistent power supply.
    4. No. New battery has been installed on Sept 5.
    5. Bought it in 2017

When the new battery was installed, I was told that it will take time to charge completely which happened after a few days. But now the new battery is not performing well.

Yes. But did you try to turn the machine on before the new battery was fully charged as indicated by a steady blue battery charge LED? Because the new battery was very close to being at or near the critically low charge level between Sept 5 & Sept 13. This can ruin even a new battery. It should've been plugged in on Sept 5th right away, remained in the off state, and allowed to fully charge.

The guy who installed it had it charged for like 20 mins at the store. I brought it back and put it on charge later on.

Probably sitting on the shelf below 5% critical charge level (~2,000mwh) for way too long. The battery's own internal charge controller is also reporting whacky capacity numbers in the image below that far exceed its design capacity. This suggests cell voltage instability.

Try this. With the machine off & plugged in, allow it to set at least 24 hrs with the battery charge LED solid blue. Then unplug the charger. Then, while closely watching the power LED preferrably in a darkened room, turn the machine on. Do you see a flash of light in the power LED?

I'll try this but the issue is that the light turns blue in a few seconds even when the laptop is powered off. Unplugging the charger and turning on the laptop does not turn it on rather I have to connect the charger to operate the laptop.

Yes, I understand that. That's why I wanted to see what happens when you allow it to set at least 24 hrs plugged, turned off, and with the battery charge LED solid blue.

Solid blue only suggests that the battery voltage is at a maximum for a fully charged battery. But this battery may no longer be able to hold much charge when battery voltage is at a maximum. Quickly going from orange to blue in only a few seconds suggest the battery isn't accepting much charge even though it's voltage might be high..
