Opened up my laptop to clean it out, now laptop makes loud beeping noise when (un)plugging it in.

Today I opened up my Acer Aspire F15 laptop to clean it out. All cables and connections seemed to be in place when I closed it back up. However, now whenever I plug it in or unplug it, the laptop makes a loud beep. I am worried that I damaged something, or that maybe the speakers are damaged/disconnected because Windows 10 isn't making the sound--the laptop is.

  • First start the laptop when its disconnected and see if its beeping? If its still beeping (or a series of beeps that can mean allot of things) first try to take the ram out and clean its pins and plugs, leave the ram disconnected for about 5 min and reconnect, if its still beeping then its the ram or it can also be that you have a low battery condition and a battery problem.

This can also happen with the charger+battery power output that can't keep up with the function or a game's power demands. In this case, the CPU/GPU will start to throttle or slow down to conserve power as those are the symptoms of that beep.

    Thanks StevenGen!

So, I should clarify: the beep isn't a beep code thing. It's just a noise that occurs whenever the power connector is physically inserted or removed from the laptops power jack. It's a sound that my laptop has never made. The laptop still loads windows just fine, and the speakers work normally.

It also sounds like the beep noise is actually coming from near the power jack.
