What wires are from front panel switch/LED header to on/off switch?

The on/off switch on my Acer aspire M5700 is first neuropathic & now dead. I try to check the wiring. From a side view, I see only a pair of green & white wires connected to the on/off switch. I also see a pair of green & white wires from pins 2 & 4 of front panel switch/LED header, but pins 2 & 4 are not Power SW pins. Are there also wires from pins 6 & 8, the Power SW pins, that I cannot see because of the side view?

From what I see of your picture. I think that yours unit is different from page 27 and page 29 of the link that I gave.

As JackE stated I'd carefully try a putty knife to see if it'll pop up.

Are you positive that the switch is bad.

Put an ohmmeter across the pairs and push the on/off to see if it shorts temporarily ?

Be sure that the unit is unplugged.
