Hi.

I have a 256 GB SSD with my computer and I would like to upgrade it to 2 TB. Is it possible? What should I care about the new SSD?

Thanks. :)

That is so weird... My guess is they for some reason won't put a drive in that isn't one of the models the units shipped with? They shipped with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB SSDs and 1TB or 2TB HDDs, so the size isn't a real limit.

Well... I assembled the SSD by myself, and It's working like a charm.

I feel upset about the official Acer service isn't reliable in my country, it seems they just hadn't wanted to do the job.

Nope, you can go to 2TB easily and even 4TB or 8TB if you have the money... The key is NVMe as the drive type.

For a some reason, the offical service in Turkey said that I can't upgrade my ssd to 2TB. The limit is 512GB for my laptop. So, they didn't accept my ssd which I brought them to assembly. It's very confusing.

My guess is there is someone, or several someones, in management above the technician level that has decided they don't want to take on liability that a third party device will work correctly, so they just tell the techs to not do those mods... As you can see it's not a tough process....

The problem is that acer tested this model with ssds of 128, 256 and 512gb. Technicians only report what is described in the service manual. Current models support 1tb ssds or higher.

Well, it seems like you're right. BTW, I have heard some rumors that there are some issues with the locale service when I tell this thing to my friend. Anyway, it's done, and my computer is amazingly fast. :)
