Hello!

My 1 year old Acer Nitro 5 AN515 55 521K has a battery life of  1 hour 55 minutes. I never checked it really because I was gaming and it was plugged in. I now have to take it to school and I realise that the battery life is very low, although it should be much higher than that.

Can someone help me please.

A lot depends on how many apps, browser pages, scanners are running at the same time and screen brightness. 2 hrs life is fairly typical for most laptops for moderate use. Halfing screen brightness can sometimes yield twice the life. Furthermore, batteries can lose between 10-20% of their original design capacity per year even if sitting on the shelf. If you have a one-year old laptop, the battery itself is likely another year older than the original laptop manufacturing date. So your battery may be over two years old by now.

Try this to see how much battery capacity is left .

    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.

    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.

    (3) Click run as administrator.

    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.

    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.

    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.

    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.
