Your AN515-51 has a USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Sleep and Charge) and its really one of the earlier Gen 2 USB-C as it can be used to charge other devices such as smart phones (even when it sleeps), tablets BUT but you CAN'T charge your notebook using USB-C Gen 1 port.

Note: USB 3.1 Gen 1 is the same as USB 3.0. In fact, with the release of USB 3.1 Gen 1, all existing USB 3.0 connectors were renamed to USB 3.1 Gen 1. USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard was where the upgrade is allows for a higher maximum speed of 10 Gbit/s (1.25 gigabytes per second) and higher power.

The USB-C port on the AN515-51 is at diagram port #3 left side port of laptop (see below) is a USB Type-C port - Connects to USB devices with a USB Type-C connector. Burt, it Supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 specs with transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps. So and if your charger cant charge your laptop it means hat its the wrong USB-C type charger for your laptop or the AN515-51 does not charge the laptop from the USB-C, check with Acer and see what they recommend.
