Hi All, I have Acer Aspire A514-52, the battery stopped charging about two weeks ago - Battery Status: 0% available (plugged-in), I tried to reset the battery, reinstalled the drivers, I run the device manager - shows all good, Acer health check - shows all good, but the battery won't charge. The laptop only works on the cable. Not sure what else can be done. The charger seems to work as it is getting warm, and I used the computer a lot so I don't get what could happen there and how to repair it. I suspect that I left a computer in sleep mode and completely drained the battery.

Please let me know if you have any solution that would work. I also discontented the battery for 60 seconds and reconnect.

Thanks

Download hwinfo and have a look at the wear level of your battery at the left side of the smart battery menue.

Hi, I've done that. The wear level of the battery is 44.5%. Current capacity 0%. The maximum capacity is almost half of the designed one.

I think I might need a new battery. The computer is also very slow since the battery got to 0%. Very hard to use, and annoys me so much as it feels like it is underperfoming.

Sounds to me like you need to replace the battery. It shouldn't run slow with ot without the battery working so that's strange.
