i noticed there is enuff room up top for 2 fans what option would be best...intake case fans or exhaust fans ? and im going with the stock oem fans i assume that would be best unless someone else knows otherwise we can get them from capital data ....then i added a crucial 16 gig ddr 5 4800 mhz chip in dimm 3 cuz according to the owners manual we can...now in task manager it says ram is 2000 mhz .. is that from mixing the hynix that came with it along side the crucial ? and i noticed after upgrading the memory my pc now runs about 5-10 degrees cooler on average when gaming ..is that normal ?

With the case fans and better cooling, if the OEM fans heat dispersion is not adequate for the gaming/editing usage that you do then upgrade to a better and suitable cpu cooler like the Noctua NH-U9S chromax.black cpu cooling that fits your PO5-640 space (and many community users have used) and also to the case fans of the better Noctua 120mm NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap fans as these two solutions will reduce temps considerably in your desktop.

With the ram you must have upgraded to the wrong ram 8GB spec in DIMM 3 (total 24GB) as they all have to be the same CAS# Latency (CL) timing which should be the same as your Acer fitted OEM (install CPUz to find out).

The compatible ram that is suggested by Crucial here PO5-640 (or do an individual Crucial System Scan yourself of your PO5-640) and find out exactly their suggested ram combinations for your PO5-640, as Crucial does suggest 2x ram modules only into DIMM's 1 & 2 at either 32GB or 16GB or 8GB. If you want to use Acer memory configuration then follow their manual table below as they both work.

    Crucial suggest PO5-640 configuration is:

    1. 64GB kit - 2x 32GB DDR5-4800 • CL=40 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.1V • 2Rx8 • PC5-38400 or for
    2. 32GB kit - 2x 16GB DDR5-4800 • CL=40 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.1V • 1Rx8 • PC5-38400 or if you want
    3. 16GB kit - 2x 8GB DDR5-4800 • CL=40 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.1V • 1Rx16 • PC5-38400,

Acer suggested PO5-640 configuration is (btw, check the OEM Acer fitted ram for exsact specs and match those):

    thx stevengen.....

i put a 16 gig in dimm 3 because the top chart says we can have a different value in dimm 3 when using 3 chips <ABA>? and yes i ran the crucial scan and got the right stuff ...it works etc and my pc is 5-10 degrees cooler playing the same games oddly enuff and i monitor it using predator sense on my 2nd screen and i just wanted to add more fans to the top bracket for cooling if needed...i have read in other places when you mix different types of ram like i am hynix and crucial you get odd readings but i do plan on buying 2 more 16 gig sticks from crucial and keep running 3 until i get enuff time 2 add a 4th in that hard to reach dimm spot under the cpu fan....thx for the tips tho i appreciate them n tc

Most users don't really need the Noctua cooling upgrade. Under normal use, even gaming, the temperatures stay within the designed limits. Some users really want to see lower temperatures than those designed though, and the Noctua setup does give a 10-15% drop from stock. There have been a lot of users here that have gone the Noctua route, with good success, and many fewer that have tried other options, so we tend to recommend the Noctua for those who want the additional cooling.

Some games tax CPU, while others are more dependent on graphics adapter. But even less taxing games can become a lot more demanding when the display resolution gets higher (for example moving from 1080p to 4K) and FPS (60Hz => 120, 144 or even 240Hz) increases.

I think your gaming temps are good. But then you mention that your idling temps are:

"i noticed when im idle they hit 60"

I wouldn't be happy with that high idling temp, but that's just me. There's absolutely no reason for you to worry, because 60C won't cause any problems. One way to fix this "not a real problem" would be to replace the CPU cooler.

The reason I upgraded CPU cooler and case fans on my PO3-620 was to lower CPU temps and to lower the noise caused by the original fans. I don't know about your system, but PO3-620s and 630s seemed to have insufficient CPU coolers when they came from the factory. Because of this the CPU was overheating while gaming, which limited it's performance (aka. thermal throttling) and caused the fans spin like crazy and cause terrible noise.

When you play games and use gaming mode - I believe the fans spin at full tilt - only you can tell if the noise is too much for you or not.

ok let me rephrase ....idle as in when im playing the games and say im waiting for the next stage or i walk away and return...when my pc is idle its 25-30 and when im using my pc in non-gaming mode its hovers at 40...surfing the web ect...sorry for the confusion....i should have clarified better on what i meant by idle and yes thats why i bought the 5000 over the 3000 was more fans...etc..and i woulda got a 7000 but i cant find any to buy except on acers site and there too expensive for me..... i got mine at best buy and was able to take advantage of financing and sale prices.... so its good enuff and yes when i play games i run the fans on gaming mode there not that loud at all and it does not bother me and if i do upgrade the cooler ill just go liquid cooled in the future and be done with it...and as far as my display i have a hp x24ih set at 140 and a predator xb27gx set at 240 and this pc does not come with integrated gfx only the card

Thank you for clarifying things. I think that your idling temps are good, so there's no need to spend more money on cooling.

And if the fan noise doesn't bother you, there's really nothing to worry about. Enjoy your new system and game on!

well thats always good to hear from someone who knows alot and had great knowledge helping us beginners out no matter how old or young we are haha...i do appreciate it...and tyvm...well what my plan was-is after adding 32 gig of crucial ddr 5 @ 4800 mhz i was thinking about adding 2 stock oem frostblade 2.0 fans to the top mount for more intake and cooling then i think ide be set actually more fans never hurt im told and have read lol
