I have a Aspire A114-32 for about a year and now the battery doesn’t last for more than a few hours without using much screen brightness, even though the care center says battery good the laptop switches off by 15% of the battery left, I think this is rubbish for a brand like yours for a battery not to last for a few years, I thought your company doesn’t sell products that will last for a short amount of time, I don’t think I will ever buy from Acer again.

Even though the warranty has expired as I was told by someone on the number 0732747700 but this is definitely not normal for a laptop battery to last a year.

I also have a problem that Acer doesn’t automatically update my Laptop, as with my other Dell Laptop.

    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.

    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.

    (3) Click run as administrator.

    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.

    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.

    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.

    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

"singer" what battery do you have OEM in your A114-32? As things are not that bad, Acer laptops are very reliable and have high quality components and products, you must be doing something wrong and have your Aspire A114-32 settings wrongly setup and the A114-32 battery settings is set to use too much battery as the A114-32 is a low consuming power laptop that its OEM batteries are either supplied with a 3 cell 3220mAh (Acer part #: KT.00305.005 or the KT.0030G.011)  or a 2 Cell 4810mAh (acer part #: KT.00205.005 or the KT.00205.004) batteries. The 3 cell 3220mAh you should get 8 hours and a half of Web browsing and 9 hours of video playback while with the larger 4815mAh you should get more.

The battery that you have should last longer than 1 hour . With the battery make sure that your charger adaptor is charging your battery properly and its plug connects 100% to the laptops DC-in jack side port and that this port is not damaged in any way as even a slight port connection problem can affect how your laptop charges! Battery life depends on how you use the laptop and how you condition the battery with every charge, you should completely drain until the laptop turns off from battery power every months and fully charge the battery. So check all these components out and do a battery report (as instructed above) and post its results as there must be something wrong that is causing this problems, it could be the charger adaptor or the battery or the power charging internal circuitries of your motherboard that have a problem and needs diagnosis by an experienced technician and fixed, so check the battery and charger first and the DC side port and see if there are any problems with those?

With the updates do them yourself with running Windows Update, install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant for all your Intel graphics appropriate and up to date drivers and all drivers from Intel and run this software, as all this will make your laptop have the latest drivers and updates for Win-10 as you don’t need the Acer updater.

These are the OEM Acer Aspire A114-32 battery, charger adaptors and DC IN Cable/plug that can be replaced if this is a problem that are suitable for your laptop, check your OEM part number for the battery and charger and replace them with either the exact part numbers or fit the upper spec parts to give you more battery life. Good luck and hope this helps you out and fixes your problems.
