Extensa 2520 Camera Driver

I've got an Extensa 2520 from my dad which I updated the BIOS and reformatted, but the camera isn't working, I get a message saying it's not connected. It's got no programs on it apart from the barebones of windows and chrome and Windows has already done the automatic updates. I've tried the Acer app, but it does nothing, I've tried the Microsoft one that turns things on and off, nothing, I've looked in Device Manager, but I can't see a camera in there at all. However, I can see an unknown device which isn't working. I tried the automatic update for it, but nothing.
The thing is that he can't remember using the camera for a while and so can't tell me if it was working before I did all the BIOS updates on the Acer drivers page https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/6493?b=1. On that page, I can't see any of the drivers for the camera and I don't have a disk with drivers that came with the laptop in the beginning, if one came with it.
Does anyone know if there are drivers for it and where they are?
The OS is Windows 10 home.

    The LCD video/webcam cable probably  needs to be replaced from wear and tear in the hinge area of opening & closing the lid too much. Download, unzip and install the ViewPlayCap camera freeware from this link to see if it detects the camera. If not, then try downloading and installing iobit's DriverBooster freeware to see if it can find a better i/o driver on line. If still no joy,  the the cable should probably be replaced.  Google search keyword extensa 2520 lcd video cable for vendors who ship to your location. About $25usd.

    Make sure you have both the chipset drivers and the serial IO drivers installed. They often don't come with the base Windows install and are needed for devices like the camera that are connected to internal USB ports.
