Okay so first thing first I don't really know which nitro 5 I have. All I really know is that it is the one that has two slots for SSD drives. I'm still new to computer/laptop stuff and so when looking up an SSD for a nitro. The images I got were either the big square thing or the long rectangular one, but my gut is telling me it's the long rectangular one. Okay so onto the main point here I did some research before coming back here and making an account. Yes, I tried the f12, f2 and holding the power button until the blue screen pops with the options to reset the laptop in multiple ways. I also need to mention that I used to have the exact same nitro 5 back then with the 2 SSD slot, that one got into an accident revolving a liquid spill. After that I went and bought my current to now nitro 5 and will opening the bottom of my previous nitro, I found that there was one empty SSD slot next to the one that had an SSD drive in it. So, I decided to take the old SSD from my, old nitro and put it into my, current nitro and so the questions I was wanting to ask was that does me adding my old SSD card into my current nitro affect anything? Another is that I believe this happen to me twice but after installing a new update for windows and starting the laptop back up it started like normal but when I login and get to my home screen I would realize that I'm in the old SSD drive home screen. The first time this happen I believe I did the the f12 method to boot me back into my, current SSD drive the one that came with the nitro. But the second time which was recent I tried doing the same thing but as stated I would get the black but lightly dim screen with no curser. Yes, I tried to boot up the blue screen with multiple options to reset the laptop, but I forgot my password and when trying to click the forgot my password or an account isn't there. It would give me a message about running an administrator account or not running an administrator account? I don't remember all I know is that I can't reset my password. Anything helps and if you need more detail I will be gladly to provide more detail for you guys and thanks in advance.

To find out your laptops model number go to search and type in System Info as in the top left side at System Model it will tell you what model number your Nitro laptop is, if its got 2x M.2 drives it should be a Nitro 715-51 also your laptop has a sticker on the back that will give you this information also.

You can’t have 2x M.2 drives with both having the same operating systems e.g. Win-10 on them, take that old M.2 drive out, reboot the laptop into your original OS (as it should work without all the lightly dim screen and all the other issues) as you have two choices to format the second M.2 drive:

    First choice:

    1. Boot up the laptop into the original OS,

    2. Make sure that you backup all the valuable info that you have on the old M.2 (if you have any?)

    3. Open the back of your laptop (make sure that you wear an anti static wrist band) and put the secondary old M.2 into your laptop as it should recognize this second M.2 drive.

    3. Then open either File Manager or Disk Manager

    4. Then format the D:\ secondary drive completely by either and through “File Explorer” by right clicking on the D:\ drive and choosing "Format" and use NTSF format or you can go into "Disk Management" where you can format this secondary D:\ M,2 drive to either MBR or GUID (GPT) format.

    Second choice:

    1. Get an M.2 NGFF NVME /SATA SSD to USB 3.0 Portable External Drive Converter Card and use that to format the old M.2 card by just connecting the old M.2 card into the USB of your laptop and formatting the drive externally the same way as in #4 above and then putting the M.2 card into the laptop back again but this is the same as in the first choice but easier, its up to you?

    >>>Okay so first thing first I don't really know which nitro 5 I have. >>>

Press WIN key + R key. Enter 'msinfo32'. System model number  should appear in right pane. For example, AN515-55.

I also need to mention that when clicking on Acer (D:) the one I'm trying to get back into. It says that the location isn't available and says access denied when I try to click on it and plus it doesn't have the little GB meter storage at the bottom of it. One thing which was the original ssd slot that had the ssd drive in it again? Asking because well the old one I put in here that was from my previous same nitro laptop has been in this current laptop for quite some time now and I don't remember which was the original.

    >>>I forgot my password >>>

If this is a new machine, how could you forget your password already?

Also you cannot try to boot from  SSD that is setup to boot from old machine even if it's the same model series since the Windows license is tied to the old machine's serial number not the new machine's serial number

Well, when I mean new, I meant like almost like a year new type of new. I'm assuming it's the password use to log into the laptop but for almost that past year I've been using my pin password instead.

If you now have a new and an old drive installed with two Windows boot versions, you must first remove the old drive to get back to where you started, Then we can try to modify the old drive so it won't interfere with your original PIN password.

Okay so I took out the old one out and left the original one in and I’m on this page. Next I click troubleshoot and advance option and go to startup repair. I then click my account but it’s asking for the password that I forgot and when I click forget password this comes up.

When was the last time this AN515-54 was working properly? July 15th? July 14th? An earlier date? Can you estimate the date?

Can you put the machine's hardware back together EXACTLY the way it was on July 1?
