The display on my acer predator helios 300 is not working. Whenever I power on the laptop the screen flashes white very quickly and then stays black but the laptop works as normal and can be plugged into an external monitor and still be used. This started happening earlier today after my power went out and hasn't worked since. I've already tried resetting the battery using the button on the bottom of the laptop and have also reseated the memory.

Monitor issues can be many and could also be just that it needs a bios reflash, also these laptop came with either a 15.6” or a 17.3" screens, so which one do you have? As what your problem sounds like is that the monitors LCD EDP CABLE that connects the screen to the mobo might be damaged or its many fine threads are shortening out or are severed and causing no image or it could be that your screen is faulty too? The only way is to replace either the cord or the actual screen. What Predator Helios 300 model have you got, give us the exact model number so that we can advise you of what the proper screen is for your laptop.

Just as an example this screen that I have a reference is for a Predator Helios 300 G3-571 series, so have a look at your model number as this the "Acer PREDATOR HELIOS 300 G3-571 SERIES" is from a reputable site where they have most of the screens for every laptop as the model G3-571's OEM Acer LCD EDP CABLE part # is 50.Q2MN2.009, so you need to look at all these aspects and replace all appropriate parts but best is for you to take your laptop to an experienced technician that just doesn't replace parts but analyzes the exact problem and can fix your issues. Have a look at this site "Electronics repair school screen blank but laptop works" or this "Backlight but no picture, a rare graphics issue fault" as these issues are many and Sorin is an old time technician that just doesn't replace parts but actually fixes faults and this could be a great guide for you to look at. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
