Clone the hard drive and OS of your old XC 830 onto the new XC1600 hard drive by using a cloning software like the Macrium Reflect Free 8.0 as and if you swap drives then the old OS on the XC 830 will conflict with the bios ID on the new XC desktop pc if a straight swap of hard drive is done. With the ram, install the software for the Crucial System Scan and do the scan, as that is a great scan that will tell you all the combinations and max ram that your new XC-1600 desktop can have.

As far as I know, XC-1660 has 3 SATA ports on the motherboard. If your model has a DVD drive installed, this will use one SATA port and only two ports left. Can you be more specific, if the 1 TB SSD drive of the XC-1660 that you are going to upgrade to is  a 2.5" SATA3 SSD or a PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD? If it is a SATA3 SSD, then you will only have one open SATA port left. You can use this last open port for your old 1 TB HDD or old 256 GB SSD from the XC-830. If the XC-1660 1 TB SSD is a NVMe drive, then you can move both drives from the XC-830 to the XC-1660.

It really doesn't matter that much, you can always buy an USB 3.0 external 2.5" SATA adapter to use for the extra SSD. Don't forget, the drives from the XC-830 should be used as data drives when apply to the XC-1660. You may also need to get the special 6-pin power connector cable (for 2 drives) from the motherboard to the drives if it did not come with the PC.

To get maximum memory of your PC:

In Power Shell ( or Command Shell), type: Wmic memphysical get maxcapacity

The numbers returned will be in Kilobytes.
