Aspire A317-33 I've messed up the Registry on my week old laptop.

I was trying to install AutoCAD 2000, then tried to reinstall, but it 2nd time around it wouldn't start to load. I had the dumb idea of going through the registry and delete any line with AutoCAD in it. The programme does start to load, however then a dialogue box pops up with 'MS127B2' and 'Registry Key Not Found'. Stupidly I didn't create a back up file or make notes of what I deleted.

Anyone know how to overcome this stumbling block please?

The laptop is new, so happy to reformat the drive if I can get a backup disk from Acer (enquiry sent) and start reloading my programmes again.

BTW, I've already looked for restore points, but there was none to back restore to. :(
