PH315-54 Can Acer increase the GPU TDP for 2021 Predator and Nitro models?

I have this model (PH315-54-72ZJ). As you can see, it goes max up to 105W. The newer 2022 models go up to 140W. It might be helpful in getting some extra juice if TDP is increased a bit to at least 115-120W like Acer did for various models in 2021.

Oops. Forgot to add the link. Here it is: Datasheet PN: NH.QC2SI.004 (acer.com)

Nvidia seems to be marketing the 3060 mobile chips with different power ratings. But still calling them all 3060s. I suspect that mainboards with the higher powered 3060 chips cost more money to manufacture and to cool. :)

Looking at the 2022 models, seems like it. But power rating depends on the OEM to implement. At least a 10W boost would be enough.

Also, Whisper Mode 2.0 shows as supported in NVidia Control Panel but in GeForce Experience, it is not owing to the sole reason of "Disabled by notebook". Why is Acer doing so?

That's not what I meant. There's an 80watt rated 3060 that nvidia says can be overclocked up to 95watts max without a meltdown. There's 90watt rated 3060 that nvidia says can go up to 105watts max. There's a 125watt rated 3060 that nvidia says can be tweaked up to 140watts max.

Sure, any mfr's TDP might be less than or equal to nvidia's TDP for the same power rated chip. I doubt any mfr would try to exceed nvidia's own recommended design ratings and overclocking.

Hmm. So Acer used 90W one in 2021 model which goes up to 105 in Turbo mode?

Seems like it. The Acer design team likely wouldn't try to exceed the nvidia recommended 105 watt max. But what do they know? You could still try it anyway to see if the chip pops or not. :D

Haha. Maybe they are still holding off somewhat power.
