My new Acer Nitro monitor (model QG241Y) that I got today won’t connect to my new Acer computer (model D17W6) that I also got today. The computer turns on, but when I attempt to turn on the monitor, it won’t. I’ve retried 3 times to make it work by unplugging and replugging all the cords but it won’t work. I don’t know if I’m missing a cable/cord or what. I have an HDMI cable, power cord for the monitor, and both parts of the adapter for the computer. Am I missing something? Or am I not plugging it in right? This is my first time every owning a gaming computer, so I’m pretty confused. The instructions I got are also hard for me to understand. I apologize if this is a dumb question. I’m just not very good at these things.

First thing I would check would be power sources, move outlets, use the same cords in other machines, insure they're providing juice. is the monitor indicating power? will it turn on with anything else plugged in? will the computer operate with a TV, or another monitor? then that brings it to trying other video sources, are they working? is it because you maybe had to change display ports VGA, DVI, HDMI? could just be a matter of it not being recognized, and not being utilized, its all really basic I know but I've gotten frustrated and missed so much like this before

was looking around and found that on the back of the monitor, 3rd button down behind the right side there's a video source button also, dont know if that could be a solution?

and there's a driver available for the monitor at:
Product Support | Acer United States

Default PnP may not support the monitor, if you find the tower works with other sources, maybe download it and see if you can multi monitor and install that driver to get it functional

I see its DDC capable go into your physical settings oof the monitor if you can and make sure DDC is enabled.
