Screen has gone blank/black due to Acer Display Widget Acer Z5763

So I installed the Acer Display Widget on my Acer Z5763 All-In-One PC this morning. I went into that software's settings and click on the "Power" option. Immediately after that the screen just went black. However the music I had been playing before I had clicked on the "power" option still kept playing with no issues.

I waited for the issue to "fix itself" the way the display usually does when you've selected the wrong option but it did not.

So I shutdown the PC via the power button and restarted it.

But the screen is now black and even the bios options don't show anymore.

However the PC shows signs of life; ram beeps, power and menu lights are on, etc.

I've tried doing a power reset to no avail.

I've opened the casing and did a CMOS reset and still no change.

I even tested my ram sticks one by one and still the problem persists.

I'm at my wits end, someone please help me 🙏🏾

If FN+F6 or FN+F5 doesn't turn the screen back on can you check HDMI or VGA output to a TV screen or another monitor?

Hi thank you for your response. I had tried "FN + every key" in desperation and nothing happened. The one thing I need to try is hooking it up to an external display, problem is I don't have access to one.

How about a friend with a TV set?

I'm relatively new where I stay so I don't really have a friend here plus these people here are very unfriendly.

    (1) Press and hold power button till machine shuts off.
    (2) No LED indicators should be on.
    (3) Remove AC plug
    (4) Press and hold power button for about one minute
    (5) Plug AC back in
    (6) Press and hold DEL key
    (7) While still holding DEL key,, turn machine back on
    (8) If BIOS menu appears, press F9 key
    (9) Then press F10 key to exit BIOS menu

Thank you, I did not do the DEL part. Let me try that.

I just have the exact same issue, and after hours of debugging, it seems that for some monitors they cannot afford a high brightness from widget auto adjust, and cause a black screen. My solution if you have two screens:

Duplicate display so that you will be able to see the screen. If both screens are blacked out, try duplicating by keyboard: win+P, press down arrow and then press enter

Enter widget, switch to sRGB mode and click advanced mode. Lower the brightness until the blacked screen becomes normal. Mine works under brightness 80.

I saw the OG post was two years ago and no proper solutions are given, so I hope my solution could work for someone else in the future :)
