Touchpad Settings Disappeared After Update Aspire A515-43

Hi,

After a recent update, my touchpad no longer has all the multi gesture settings that were available before. I can still move the cursor though. I’ve already tried everything I can think of from restarting, shutting down, checking for new updates, uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad driver, downloading the two latest available touchpad drivers on the Acer website, and scanning for hardware changes in device managers. All to no avail

For some reason the I2C HID Driver has also disappeared and the PS/2 Compatible Mouse Driver appears to now be extremely outdated (6/21/2006) but it shows as the best driver already installed. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Could you please post the full model name of the laptop, like AN5xx-xx, in the meantime, go to Acer Support site and download Serial IO driver for your model, then uninstall current Intel Serial IO drivers in Device manager under System devices, then install the driver you have downloaded from Acer support site.

Press ctrl+s in bios main tab and change touchpad to I2C.

Hi,

I have the Aspire A515-43. I did not see a serial I/O driver on the website. It runs on the AMD Ryzen, and not Intel, so maybe that’s why I don’t see one? This is what’s under my System Devices:

1. Update RTC reset behavior.2. Add ctrl+S to showSATA and Touchpad SCU Item3. Add "Acer Dock I" & "Acer DocK II" PXE ROM support. 1.07

You have to press CTRL+S in the main bios tab!

I've now tried resetting my laptop to factory settings, but I didn't find the hidden OEM reset partition. Does this mean that it's a hardware issue? If so, how should I go about fixing it?
