I have a question regarding a possible start up sound of the Acer Aspire 7 A715. I used to have a macbook which made a high pitch noise whenever I turned it on. Does the aformentioned model does so as well? I am not refering to the ventilator but rather the hard drive. Thank you in advance!

Notebook HDDs are fairly quiet these days. And SSDs have no moving parts to make noise. Newer notebooks however deliver full power to the fans on startup to avoid rotor stalling due to stiction -- static friction ---when not enough power is applied to start the fan rotor spinning. They may reach 5000rpm with a noticeable high pitch. Shortly after turning the machine on, the fan power is reduced to a barely audible idling 1500-2000 rpm. Notebooks equipped with DVD drives also deliver full power to the drive spindles on startup for similar reasons.

Thank you for answering the question, but is it also the case with the aforementioned model?

Yes. But if it worries or bothers you too much, then immediately return the machine to vendors for a refund or exchange before the vendor's return merchandise authorization (RMA) period expires. Usually only a few weeks. Perhaps you can find another model or brand that's quieter on startup.
