AN515-55-53E5 has two slots for an m.2, is this a good gaming upgrade?

I'M adding 8 rams and a sata ssd.
Since my other nitro stopped working, I have another one of these 256GB NVMe SSD. I figure I can't use both, it also in the new laptop.
I research these questions, just sometimes I can't find what I'M looking for.
Also is 16 rams enough?

    JustDon just like to give you a brief explanation on best gaming specs for RAM and SSD's in a laptop like the AN515-55 and for your laptop to perform the best in gaming, as you will need all the RAM that your laptop can handle and you can afford as the top M.2 SSD that your laptop can handle is of the type M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen.3x4 that Acer fits OEM and suggests! Also you will need to keep your Windows Updates and graphics and Intel drivers uopdates for your laptop as that also contributes to a well performing gaming laptop.

    With the M.2 drives you can fit some of the Acer OEM M.2 SSD drives like the 1TB WDC N8SP4 SDBQNTY[1]1T00-1014 or the 512GB MICRON N8SP4 MTFDHBA512TCK[1]1AS15ABYY or the 256GB WDC N8SP4 SDBQNTY-256G-1014 but and in my opinion and if you want top performance with a top M.2 SSD NVMe drive then upgrade to the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen.3x4 which has been proven and is the best and quickest of the M.2 drives for gaming and most reliable.

    Also and with the RAM Acer quotes max RAM for the AN515-55 of 32GB total into its 2x RAM slots at equal RAM capacities e.g 16GB + 16GB or 8GB + 8GB etc in each slot and Acer also limits RAM speeds for the two different AN515-55 CPU’s that this laptop has as follows;

    • Intel Coffee Lake-H CPU’s suggested RAM speeds of either DDR4 2400/2666
    • Intel Comet Lake-H CPU’s suggests RAM speeds of either DDR4 2666/2933

    So be aware of all that and also do the Crucial System Scan of your AN515-55 which is a modern scan that will suggest the max and Cricial's RAM and SSD drive ranges suitable for your laptop, be aware that this Crucial scan will also and probably suggest a max RAM of a total of 64GB (2x 32GB) at DDR4-2666MHz with their modern RAM that they produce/sell and guarantee that it will work as they also explain why they suggest an above and more max capacity than Acer's OEM RAM max capacity for your AN515-55 laptop.

    So do that scan (if you want the ultimate memory for games performance) and read Crucial’s explanations why they suggest such high max RAM for your Nitro 5 AN515-55  CPU’s as the Intel’s specs for these CPU's are as follows:

    • Intel Coffee Lake-H CPU’s - Memory Specifications is at Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) is at max 64GB and the max speed is at DDR4-2666, LPDDR3-2133.
    • Intel Comet Lake-H CPU’s - Memory Specifications is at Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) is at 64GB also at the max speed at DDR4-2933.

    As that is what Crucial specs go by with their suggested memory that they guarantee to work as max memory for your AN515-55. Good luck and hope this helps you out to upgrade your AN515-55 to a top gaming rig.
