Hello, I'm Ezra! My acer nitro 5 an515-54 has been experiencing insane fps drops in minecraft 1.18.2, Before the 1.18 versions, the fps didn't use to drop, it would always be around 100 - 200 - 300 fps!
I have dedicated my gpu, best nvidia settings, i even put the two javaws to high priority and to set it on gpu with graphics settings, nvidia settings. I even optimized my laptop and everything and i even used optifine but im still getting fps drops? Should i use sodium as it uses more gpu rather than optifine using the cpu? Or could it be the minecraft settings? cause im wondering what render distance simulation distance i should use to get a fps boost. If anyone is out there that uses acer nitro 5 and has figured out the answer please answer or anyone that knows a answer

You answered your own question... the issue is possibly is a bad update to the game - go back to 1.1.8 version of the game, or raise the question in the game forums.

    1. Install all Windows updates.
    2. Change your PC power plan.
    3. Update your graphics driver.
    4. Close all background programs.
    5. Stop using skins with effects.
    6. Lower in-game graphics settings.
