Swift 5. How do I turn on the webcam?

I have a Swift 5.  I've gone to several sites that require a selfie for ID.  I respond to all the questions about giving permission to use the camera and so  forth, but neither the camera nor the light come on, so I can't take a selfie here and so can't get support.  Is there a function key or something I need to push?

Hi @ErnieLane

You can try to reinstall the camera drivers from the device manager.



Please find the above image for uninstalling the driver.

After uninstalling the driver please do restart the laptop to reinstall the driver back to the laptop.

If in case if that doesn't work you can try to do the reset.

Follow the above link to do the reset.

Note: But make sure to backup all the information before you do the reset.

Fire up the Camera app and verify the camera is actually working...

Hi @ErnieLane,

To open up your webcam or camera, select the Start button, then select All apps, and then select Camera in the list of apps. If you have multiple cameras, you can switch between them by selecting Change Camera at the top right once the Camera app is opened.
