RE: updated Aspire 7250 to Win10 and their updates; updated Memory from 4 to 8G, cleaned/optimized, now system appears to run even slower. Do I need to do something else : update BIOS?

No, the biggest speed increase by far results from replacing the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SSD. Increasing memory has little effect on the speed of booting and loading programs and apps from the HDD. I recommend the Western Digital blue series 2.5" SSD for this model. The 1TB size is about the best SSD deal right now. You should be able to install up to 2TB without problems
