edited December 2022 in Nitro Gaming
Hi there,

I purchased a Acer Nitro 5 almost 1 and a half years ago, Model no. AN515-55, GTX1650 and I5 10th gen

It worked flawlessly until December, when the computer had a complete system failure, and was taken into repair and returned at the start of February. Since then, Most games played have been really laggy and unplayable, and Memory has risen heaps. CPU is also at around 85-95 degrees at idle. How do I fix this?

@AUSF1 you can try updating the Windows, Driver, or use a temperature monitor app to see if it is throttling during gaming.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi @AUSF1,

Lower the graphical settings: This is the most obvious one if your games are lagging; try and lower your graphical settings. Start by lowering/turning off extra frills like Hair FX (AMD tressFX or Nvidia Hairworks), Ambient occlusion, reflections, tesselation, volumetric lighting/god rays.

Your laptop may be slow because of too many startup programs, malware running as a background application, battery problems, full hard drive memory full or failing hardware.

Before I try any of this - If this helps, Fortnite is reaching 5 fps max.... This is a gaming laptop, I shouldn't have to reduce anything for Fortnite...

Make sure you have your laptop connected to it's charger. plus you're running in High Performance mode.
Double check for your GPU drivers.
