Do not try to fix this yourself as you could do further damage to the keyboard. Click this link. Choose your country. Click support button  near top of country page. Enter your serial number id (SNID). Arrange for warranty repair service for a defective key.

I should have said I am a qualified comp tech and have refitted a lot of laptop keys in my 30 odd years The problem is we live in the middle of nowhere its 500k to the nearest city which means to go to where an Acer dealer is located could well be at least 2 days drive there and back So the question is as above i need to buy a R key and retainer

Hello and good evening everyone, I also need the R key and key retaining clip for our 6-month-old Acer. Is there anyone to guide me through?

    Hi Huntingwhiz
I have been talking to Acer Spare parts in Sydney Australia. They have informed me that i have to purchase the whole Keyboard at $135.00 which seems to defeat the recycle angle of the laptop if you get my meaning.
I  have been waiting 2 weeks for a Phone conversation with Tech Support to see if there is an answer to our problem as i said waiting still. And the answer is get on to the people that assemble the keyboards and get us an R key and Retainer its that simple. And or take Fly swat out of wifeys hands so she cant do it in the first place lol.
As i said i am a computer tech retired i would be willing to replace the keyboard if i had the manual to follow for the first time on this model laptop.
I have sent a request to JackE post and i am awaiting a reply to that now.

Sorry, I've seen no request for how to replace the whole keyboard. If you're trying to be green and only want to replace the single key in question, then as mentioned earlier, I suggest that you go to this link, attach a phone photo of the keyboard as requested, and fill in the form . https://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/contact-us/

I have done what you recommended with the link you posted. It just amused me that they advertise this laptop as made from recyclable materials yet to replace one small part that's basically easy to replace You have to get the whole keyboard.

I'm confused?  Do you mean that the replacement key option didn't work?
