Hello guys,

I recently bought another 8GB 2666 stick and inserted it into the socket, however, booting speed went from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and when the laptop finally started, the new RAM was not recognized. I have tried all imaginable setups - old stick -> new stick, new stick -> old stick, only new stick, only old stick and the boot time continues to be the same and the RAM is still only 8 GB. I am unable to reach any RAM related settings in the BIOS, it has been updated with the most recent update when it came out in 2019 I believe. Could anyone share any advise? I doubt it is dust-related as I have left a stick in the second slot only and the laptop continues booting but very slowly as mentioned.

Best regards.

    Hi,
Could you please download and install CPU-z, run it and post the pictures of Memory tab and SPD tab for both slots.
It could be either a faulty RAM or incompatible module, could you also tell us the new RAM stick has XMP profile.

    Hello there,
I have managed to make the system read the second RAM by flashing my OS. I have a new problem now. My boot speed is still 5-6 mins and I have a 512 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD installed. When I went in the BIOS, I saw that it boots only the old HDD, when removed it gives an error that it can not proceed even though the SSD is still installed. Could you please advise on how to make the system read the SSD and boot the system from there since my HDD is simply raw data and my Windows is on the SSD?
    Kind regards.

    Hi,
How did you migrate to the SSD from HDD? Did you clone the original drive to the new SSD or recovered the image? also please post the picture of Disk management.

    Hey,
Windows was a fresh install on the SSD. DM screenshot attached (I am not at home and currently do not have internet available on the laptop hence the phone pic). C is the SSD, D and E are the two partitions of the HDD which were left with personal data, however no Windows-related data was left off. No data has been formatted either.

    Hi,
You don't have boot partitions in your SSDs, I think you have to reinstall the OS, I would suggest you remove the original HDD, then perform a clean installation of Windows, then transfer all important data from the HDD to another spare HDD, format the old HDD and use it for storage, as at present you have boot partitions(499MB and 100MB) in HDD but not in SSD.
