My Acer Aspire A315-57G's battery is draining at an alarming rate.

I bought this laptop in last year august, for the last 2 months due to work reasons I didn't have much time using this laptop. Today when I finally decided to watch a movie, when the battery reached 100% i unplugged started watching the movie within 5 minutes warning comes saying "Battery low" i checked and it was at 10%. I was like that;s weird so I charged it to 100% and decided to see what was happening when i unplugged it. When I unplugged and kept my battery stats i saw that the battery % kept getting low every 1 second. 100 to 99 to 98 until it reached 6%. It never went below 6% it's stuck. I checked the Acer Care Center and it said the battery needed attention. So saw that it was suggesting that "battery life is degraded due to long term use". Which doesn't make sense since for the last 2 months I barely used this laptop. I checked some other discussion articles and did the resetting of the battery through the pinhole in the back etc.. I've tried reinstalling the battery driver nothing has worked so far, I still do have warranty but I would rather find a solution before getting a full on battery replacement as I think it's not related to the battery itself maybe some software issue?

    Sorry. Looks like you got a lemon for a battery pack. A cell in it has likely shorted. It's been failing since before the first of the year at least. It only has about 4% of its original 100% charge design capacity left. It should be covered  by warranty. BUT, depending on your region (like US), it may be more practical to just replace it yourself. Any of these 3 types or equivalents will work. Brand doesn't matter since they're commodity items that can be re-labelled by anybody. Google the part nos shown for vendors. About $50-60usd.

    Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity. Jack E/NJ

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
    Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically". 

    Check this T/S and post the result. ​

    I am on the latest version of windows 11 (KB4023057). I am going to get a new battery tomorrow. Thanks for your help :)
