Hi All,

I hope you have an answer to my problem. In short, I have no sound on my Acer Swift5 laptop and when I hover the mouse over the speaker icon, the message "No Audio Output Device is installed" is displayed. I have updated Windows, and restalled the drivers but there is no change ?

Can anyone help ?

    Hi @ PNFINN

    • Open Device Manager (Open the start menu, type Device Manager and press enter) and select System Devices (close to the end of the list).
    • Locate Intel Smart Sound Technology driver (SST).
    • Right-click and select Update Driver from the pop-up menu.

We really need to know which Swift 5 model you have to get you a good answer, there have been literally hundreds of different SKUs over the years. It should be something like SF5xx-xxx-xxxx and the number should be on the same sticker as the SN and SNID. You are most likely just missing a driver.

    Hi all,

Sorry about the delay, I uninstalled the audio device and rebooted and that fixed the issue. But I do keep getting the same problem infrequently

    Thanks
