Hi
I'm using the acer aspire A515-43. There was a bios update v1.12 which is very bad as the system throws a Blue screen of Death whenever i run on battery power. But when I use it with connected to power it runs fine, as soon as i unplug it, It just runs for a minute or two and throws the BSOD, restarts and repeats the same(reboots ,Runs for a minute and throws BSOD).
I somehow managed to downgrade the BIOS with the help from forums. it runs fine with v1.10 but as soon as I install the v1.10 it boots and asks to restart to install the v1.12.
I have tried all the methods to stop the auto updates(regedit, gpedit.msc) but it doesnt help.
can anyone help with my situation as  i am using my laptop without shutting it down or restart so as to prevent from installing the v1.12.
Thank you.

You can disable System Firmware in the Device management console (gdevmmt.msc) and after that downgrade to 307 bios.
You can find it here "C:\Windows\System32\devmgmt.msc"
You don’t need to uninstall it, what you need is to open the file “devmgmt.msc”, find the “System Firmware” device in devices tree and disable it (see attachment). After that, it will not be updated automatically.

    Windows update :
To stop windows from updating temporarily, select Start > Settings > Windows Update. Next to Pause updates, in the dropdown list, select Pause for 1 week, then click Pause for 1 week.
To stop windows from updating permanently, Open the Run command (Win + R), in it type: services. msc and press enter. From the Services list which appears find the Windows Update service and open it. In ‘Startup Type’ (under the ‘General’ tab) change it to ‘Disabled’

You can also disable updates more reliably by right clicking wifi icon in tray. Click network/internet settings. Click wifi properties button. Scroll down and turn on metered connection. When you're ready for more update problems, simply turn off metered connection.  :)

Can you please tell me how you downgraded your BIOS? And are you still facing the same issue or has it been resolved?
