Hi Hi,

I bought the Nitro 5 two years ago and have taken great care of it. All of a sudden the charger started playing up and then just died.
I have bought a cheap replacement charger for the moment (As I can't find a proper and trust worthy replacement) and it only seems to charger the laptop when it is asleep? Is this due to the laptop draining more power than its being charger due to the crappy charger or a actual issue?

I have done a battery report if that s required to fix the issue.

@Ashta157 does the replacement charger has the same wattage output as the original? Like 135W or 180W?

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi @Ashta157,

The most likely answer is that the lithium ion battery is starting to fail. As the battery ages it will require more current to charge, and retain less of that current. The power pack is simply not able to provide enough power to both run the computer and charge the battery at the same time.
