Power Problem - Aspire E 575G 54YE

I've already had this laptop for about 4 years now and it has been known to have battery and power issues since I bought it...

I had the Acer Aspire E 575G 54YE's original battery replaced since it was filled with rust.

I also had the original charger replaced since it was damaged, so today, the laptop has a third party charger and battery and it held up pretty well for almost a year until now.

I drain the battery at least once a month to give it a full cycle, but because of the pandemic, I occasionally use the laptop on battery power. I always use it plugged in.

Weeks ago, the battery gave up. The battery charging light indicator on the front on the laptop glows in both blue and orange at the same time, like saying that battery is both full and charging.

I can boot the laptop while its plugged in with the battery, but it shuts down as if the battery is depleted after 3-5 minutes.

I usually remove the battery and plug the laptop as is. The problem is, there are only certain instances where the laptop will boot without the battery. Right now the laptop won't boot without the battery.

I think I know the problem of the battery, where one cell might be dead which makes the laptop think it's full and drained at the same time since the cells are in series..?

But I want to know what's not making the laptop boot without the battery... I've been using the laptop without the battery for a year before I replaced the original battery, but it's odd that it won't boot most of the time right now...

Yes, I know you said that. But laptops still often won't boot without a functional battery. It's not a good idea to run without a battery to help absorb AC mains voltage spikes, You got lucky earlier. You need to buy a new battery to have a chance to be able to use this machine again.

Laptops often won't boot without a functional battery. You need a replacement battery again. Google search E5-575G & battery for vendors who ship to your location. Less than $30usd.

I did say I was able to boot the laptop before without the battery, but it's just this time the laptop won't boot without the battery. In fact, I was able to use the laptop last night without the battery.

Thanks anyway for the answer, I do plan to buy another battery sometime when I am able to get a computer so that my dad can use this. I just want to figure out how I can get this to boot without the battery since I need to use it for my classes right now.
