Good morning people.
I just have a question about upgrading my predator orion 3000 PO3-630.

I reas bunch of aeticles but I still can't get the clear answer.

I might upgrade my GPU from 3060ti to 3080 but will it work?

Also for the PSU, I know that in order to install 3080, it requires minimum of 750W, will it fit in to the case? Or any cable issue going to be occur?

Thanks for the help guys

The PO3-630-UR13 model has the RTX3070 which uses about 50watts less than the 3080 and runs on a 500watt PSU. Biggest difference between the 3070/3070ti & 3080 seems to be the price. And everybody who is anybody amongst gaming gurus is gonna tell you 500watts just isn't enough for even your measly 3060ti. Acer engineers apparently didn't know that. :) And since I'm a nobody amongst gaming gurus, I suggest you try whatever card you want with your existing PSU to see how it goes. A higher powered PSU should fit just fine if need be.

Replacing 3060 Ti with 3080 will most likely not work, even if it fits in the case. The original PSU doesn't have enough clean power and most 3080s need at least two additional PCIe 8-pin power cables to work.

Upgrading your PSU is not as simple as some may think. I believe that your Predator uses a new ATX12VO standard PSU and those are still hard to find. Please search the forum as there is talk about 630 and GPU upgrades.

Hey @DennyBunz, I installed an aftermarket PSU in my PO3-620, take a look if you are interested.

They tell that because every PSU is most efficient when it works on 50% plus potential for future upgrades.
Prebuilts like orion 3000 series ain't intended to be upgraded, they are supposed to be as cheap as possible so the designers have to spare money wherever they can.
