My Acer Predator XB271HU monitor won't turn on right away

I just got a new Acer Predator XB271HU for my birthday, but I'm having some issues with it. I'm using HDMI for both my new MacBook Pro 14' (10-core GPU, 10-core CPU, 16GB Ram, 1TB Storage) and my Ps4 Pro, but both are experiencing issues. On my old monitor, anytime my Ps4 or MacBook would turn on, it would automatically detect an input and turn on. Not with this one. Let's say we're talking about my MacBook. When I turn it on, the light is still orange. I press the front power button, no light, then again, it turns blue. I see the blacklight, meaning its on, but it doesn't show anything. The buttons display settings just fine, but I can't see my MacBook there. After about a minute of unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in, and turning the monitor off and on, it eventually starts working. I don't know why this is. The monitor itself works, since I am using it right now to write out this message, but it's very frustrating upon starting it up since it doesn't detect the input right away. (A little side note: I'm waiting for an HDMI to DP adapter for my Ps4 as both of my devices use HDMI, and there is only one HDMI port on the monitor. Currently I'm unplugging the HDMI of one device to plug the other one in.)

What happens if you just wait a minute or two and do nothing?  Don't try to re-seat the HDMI cable.  Just give the monitor's own internal computer time to boot and detect what's attached to it.
