Acer Swift 3 - Sound Output Issues, possible broken headphone port?

The headphone jack on my laptop has stopped working correctly.  Normally, when plugging in a wire I'll get a popup asking what type of device has been plugged in.  I typically use either headphones or speakers.  If I choose headphones the computer acts like nothing is plugged in and sound only comes out of the laptop speakers.  If I choose speakers, there is sound output, but it's broken.  The sound only comes out as treble with zero bass.  It's like it's only sending 1/2 of the stereo out that it should.

I've done a hard reboot, reinstalled the sound drivers, disabled/reenabled all audio settings that I can think of that might affect this.  I'm worried that this is a hardware issue and of course the warranty expired last month.  I've searched through the forums but didn't find a topic with this exact issue.

Did a little more testing - I am able to get it to play sound through the headphones by manually changing the output in the Realtek Audio Console. The headphones and speakers I've tested both play just fine when plugged into another device.

The issue seems to be that there is no bass whatsoever coming out of the headphone jack.
