Hi

My ACER laptop is capable of upgrading to Windows 11.

SF314-56G

It says that TPM2.0 should be enabled but I am not able to find any instruction for my laptop. Please advise the procedure for the BIOS settings and changes. Thank you!

  • Hi,
Could you please go to BIOS screen, move to Security tab and post the picture, I think it should be already enabled and you don't need to change any settings.

    Hi brummyfan2

I don't see options for UEFI in bios setting. I also tried enabling TPM2.0 by downable tool from ACER site "Firmware_Acer_1005_A_A" but it says my laptop is not support.

    Screenshot of my bios setting.

  • Hi,
I have a different model laptop, I have shown it as an example, you don't seem to have the facility to enable TPM state, have you tried updating to Windows 11 through Windows Update? I am baffled because your model is compatible with Windows 11.

Yes, I tried Windows update but it says my system is not supporting it. I think Windows 11 upgrade can only happen when TPM is enabled, which is what I am struggling now.

OK, sorry, I had to remove the link because it's not allowed any changes in BIOS for security reason, please contact Acer support centre in your region and explain them the problem, they will be able to help you.

Aha, you are in Honk Kong, right? Chinese models aren't allowed to have TPM. The use TCM instead...

Billsey, I am based out of Hong Kong and my laptop runs Windows 10 English that comes by default. ACER website indicate that my system is compatitable for Windows 11 upgrade so I guess it's the TPM unlock that stopped me at this point.

Yes, I expect Microsoft will have a solution for customers in any part of China by supporting TCM as well as the typical TPM used elsewhere int he world.
