Heya's

I'm looking into using Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut Thermal compound which is liquid metal i believe. is the heatsink on the 1060 model of the Aspire A717-71G Copper or aluminum

I am aware of the dangers of using liquid metal as thermal paste in a laptop but i am taking safety precautions and i just need to know what material the heatsink is before i proceed

Thanks

:)

@MLGTails2002 both CPU and GPU heatsink contacts are copper surface. The liquid metal will leave a stain on the copper surface and could be difficult to remove in about 6 to 8 months when you see the temperature rise and worse cooling efficiency because of dry liquid metal. But that doesn't made the heat transfer worse, in fact, the migrating will soon slow down if you keep applying and just clean the heatsink using alcohol or sand paper to smoothen the surface. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3362-how-liquid-metal-affects-copper-nickel-and-aluminum-corrosion-test
