I just purchased the Aspire One D270, and I have two frustrating problems. I installed Windows 7 on it and I noticed that when i punch some keys on the keyboard it produces two symbols. For example if punch:

F i will get GF as output

G i will get GF as output

E i will get HE as output

H i will get HE as output

R i will get TR as output

D i will get VD as output

V i will get VD as output

X i will get CX as output

X i will get CX as output

7 i will get 57 as output

5 i will get 57 as output

6 i will get 65 as output

4 i will get 65 as output

I tried this in BIOS, and it behaves the same, so I ruled out any driver conflicts in windows. I think it is a hardware problem. Now we get to the most frustrating part of the problem, I CANNOT request assistance for my product because the serial number is not recognized. It will easily recognize it when I went and registered it, but when I request assistance it is not valid for some reason. I punched the serial number a hundred times, downloaded the system information software and got the same number and copied it and still no luck.

Can somebody please help me, am I doing something out of this world here ACER, why is getting support so difficult on your website. I couldn't even find a detailf hardware spec for my laptop and I looked EVERYWHERE on the internet, when it should be easily available when i select my product under the SUPPORT section...

From what you've included, I would definately believe that you have a hardware issue with either the keyboard or the keyboard controller.  This is something that can be taken care of with service.

If you would reply with your serial number or SNID, I can check it for you.

This does not appear to be a serial number of any system released in PanAmerica, that I can find.

    Where are you located?

Where did you purchase this unit?

What site are you using to attempt to get support?
