Want to ask. I have a Predator Helios 300 (PH315-53-7354), it has 16GB RAM single channel, and I want to add 16GB to 2nd slot. Question is do I need to add the same specs of RAM like the speed should same with the stock ram. Or can I just add any RAM. Thinking to add the "Crucial 16GB DDR4 2666MT/s"

  • Hi,
Yes, you need to match the specs of the original RAM module, find out the specs of your current module with CPU-z, download and install it, run and move to Memory tab and SPD tab too find out the details of your current module.

    Hi @redpills,

You can upgrade your Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-72XD Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 32GB Memory.

Hi, you don't need to run third party apps or invasive PUPs to get the information you need. Those apps use native Windows information to grab you what you need anyways. Here is a break down.

    -----------------------------------
    Get Memory Manufacturer:
    -----------------------------------
    1. run cmd.exe as administrator.
    2. type --> wmic memorychip get devicelocator, manufacturer
    3.Shows Ram manufacturer.

    ----------------------------------
    Get Memory Partnumber:
    ----------------------------------
    1. run cmd.exe as administrator.
    2. type --> wmic memorychip get devicelocator, partnumber
    3. Shows RAM / Partnumber.

    -----------------------------------------------------------
Get Number of RAM channels available / used:
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    1. Open Task Manager
    2. Navigate to Performance.
    3. Select Memory.
    4. Shows available number of slots on the right side of the pane.

    ----------------------------------
    Check RAM compatibility:
    ----------------------------------
    Check MOBO information:
    1. run cmd.exe as administrator.
    2. type --> wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer,version,serialnumber
    3. Displays MOBO manufacturer, Serial number, and version.
    4. Check MOBO website for the "qualified vendor list".

side note: if anyone knows or has the "Qualified Vendors List (QVC)" for the MOBO, that would be a good addition to this thread because I can't find it in the User Manual / its late and I'm throwing in the towel today.
