So the ethernet pin is broken, what can be done?

I can use wi-fi but I'd like to know if the ethernet port can be replaced, is it part of the motherboard or separate?

The Ethernet RJ45 port at the side of the laptop can be replaced but there are different types so make sure that its replaced by the same port that Acer used on your laptop, also and with the Wi-Fi you can most certainly use it as it’s a very efficient connection to the web, as 99% of consumers use Wi-Fi with their laptops. Make sure that when you have the Ethernet port replaced its done by an experienced tech that has all the tools for micro soldering as allot of these port replacement jobs RJ45, HDMI, USC-C jobs are done very badly and can wreck your mobo if not done correctly, so be careful.

Personally, if you need to use Ethernet, I would suggest getting a USB to Ethernet adapter - you can use it as needed and do away with motherboard repairs (these could be both time consuming and costly too).
