The part number isNX.HG8AA.001

Currently having issues with my A515-43 connecting to my router's 5.0GHz connection. The steps I did to try to fix this include:
  • Restarting the device and router
  • Reinstalling the wifi driver
  • Ensuring the device is not blocked on the router's settings
It connects to 2.4GHz connections just fine, though I'd really like to use the 5.0GHz one since it's a lot more stable where I'm at.

Which wif/bt card do you have? As there are 3 used for the A515-43.

    • Liteon 3rd WiFi 2x2 AC+ BT M.2 QCA NFA344A MU[1]MIMO – part: NC.23611.030
    • Wireless LAN Intel WLAN 7265.NGWG.W D0 Stonepeak M.2 2X2 AC + BT 2230 – part: KI.STN01.008
    • Wireless LAN Liteon 802.11ac Bluetooth FM 3rd WiFi 1x1 AC+ BT M.2 QCA9377A QCA NFA435A, Rev 1.1 – part: KE.11A0L.001

The best way to test if a wifi/bt card and drivers are working is to see if the wifi/bt drivers are installed in Device Manager and they are ok, if they are, then press the F3 key repeatedly which is the key that reinstates or turns off wifi, so try that. Otherwise and if you have updated the drivers for your card, check the connection of the card to the mobo, take it out and clean its pins and slot, make sure that its black and white antenna wires are properly connected as that could affect the 5G signal much more. Btw, these cards are very reliable but if your 5G doesn’t work then change the card to another one that I’ve listed above as they will all work with your laptop as your existing card could have some problems, these cards are very cheap btw.

Note: for the Qualcomm Atheros cards which the 1st is the Lite On QCA NFA344A or the 3rd is the Lite On is the QCA9377A or QCA NFA435A you can get all their latest wifi and bt Win-10. 8, 7, Vista or XP drivers form the links that I've attached, so try that.

I believe it's the 1st one. The model on the card said QCNFA344A. Also tried reseating it, no dice. The connection looked pristine.

Where are you seeing the driver for QCA NFA344A? I see it for the latter which isn't the right one, but not the former. Is it the one labeled "QCA61x4A"?

Edit: I forgot to mention that the device sees 5.0GHz networks just fine, it just refuses to connect.

Look these old wifi/bt cards will never ever give you the speeds that are around today and like the modern wifi/bt cards, as they run at max Peak Speed of 433 Mbps and this LiteOn QCA NFA344A – part: NC.23611.030 card has BT 4.1 which is old but, has this card ever connected to your 5G network on your A515-43 laptop and modem? As you said “It connects to 2.4GHz connections just fine, though I'd really like to use the 5.0GHz one since it's a lot more stable where I'm at” if it didn’t then get the other card that is suitable for your laptop like the “LiteOn QCA9377A part: KE.11A0L.001” that has the same peak speed of 433 Mbps anda better  Bluetooth 5.0 as it’s a better card and the wifi driver on that site is the QCA9377 driver version 12.0.0.1016 and the bt driver is the 10.0.0.714 for Windows 10 32/64bit which should work with 5G on your A515-43.

In my opinion your problem(s) could be either your existing and faulty wifi/bt card or your modem has issues connecting with this LiteOn QCA NFA344A card. I’ve upgraded many wifi/bt cards to older laptops that didn’t have Bluetooth with wifi/bt cards and new laptops also with more up spec wifi/bt cards and as a matter of a fact, I’m using an old wifi/bt card on one of my very old laptops an Aspire 5750 that didnt have 5G or bluetooth card and I changed the OEM wifi 2.5G card only to a Qualcomm Atheros AR5B22 2.4/5G and BT card that has worked perfectly with 5G and 2.4G signals and never ever had problems with this card and old this old laptop laptop, I'm using it as a virtual machine XP eManual for my car and it works great with 5G all the time. I suggest that you do a process of elimination and try your smartphone on your network if it runs 5G or another laptop and eliminate the problem(s) that way.
