Laptop suddenly blackout when I was using it, got really hot and had the buzzing noise. Manage to force shut down after a few tries, but when it came back on all was fine except headphone jack cannot detect any headphones and speaker had no sound at all though the system shows that my speaker is working totally fine.  Tried troubleshooting, reinstall speaker etc but nothing works. Currently using wireless earpiece but it has a buzzing background noise.

    (0) Try pressing FN+F8 keys to toggle sound on. If still no sound proceed with the following steps
    (1) Shut down Windows. Unplug the charger.
    (2) Insert a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole on the bottom for about a minute.
    (3) Then plug the charger back in. Wait for the battery charge LED to turn steady blue.
    (4) Turn laptop on and immediately tap F2 to enter the BIOS menu
    (5) Press F9 in the menu to load defaults. Then press F10 to save defaults and exit
    (6) Windows should start normally.
    (7) Press FN+F8 keys to toggle sounds on & off.

    Hi @Meiyi,

Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.

Hi tried the steps and it does not work. Tried connecting headphone jack to a speaker, though it shows that it is connected however, it produces a buzzing noise instead of video sounds. Similar to the built in speaker, it shows that its working fine but does not project any sound. There is light indication when charger is connected.

The best way to rule in or rule out a hardware is a full factory system reset. This usually requires backing up all your personal files. What do you want to do?
