Hi community,

My son's laptop is just out of warranty and the fan is clicking. The bearings are shot - time to replace. Problem is - I can't find replacement fans anywhere in Canada or the US. Does anyone have a source or a part number for this laptop? Or will I have to rip it apart and look for a part number on the bad fan? Information from Acer is brutal.

That's because it's a dual fan assembly usually sold as a thermal module, part no. 24.Q99N2.001. Google search the part no. About $80 from a few Canadian parts dealers like sourceitstore and notebooksolutions.

There is no specific listing for the individual fans for the Aspire A715-75G, you need to contact Acer in your area or search on the Acer Parts site or other equivalent parts sites that sell similar parts for this laptop, there are some listing on eBay like but not the exact A715-75G but for a "NEW CPU Cooling Fan For Acer Aspire A715-71G A717-71G A717-72Gand see if they fit? Thanks for the part number. It took 4 days to arrive and 20 minutes to replace. Pretty simple surgery as far as laptop repairs go.

Acer was no help. We tried contacting them and because it's out of warranty, got put in a maddening loop of nonsense. The part number that JackE provided worked perfectly - found a direct fit replacement. Acer is very frustrating in that they don't even support past models with replacement parts diagrams after warranty. Glad I know that now, but most others have that information on their websites. I could have found the part number by taking the laptop apart but this is the freaking internet - this information should be readily available from the manufacturer.
