    It's a new laptop that's still far superior to your old ES1-512.  And priced less than what you'll likely pay to repair the old one.

    Well I think you do reach a point where it is not economically viable to keep repairing an old machine when new ones are built in a far superior way with faster processors etc.  The knack to buying a new one is to not buy a machine that has too many features that you do not need at a far higher price than you need to pay, and I always find that that is the real challenge.

    Don't get me wrong. Even the model with R3 3200u CPU, which I think is a rather weak CPU, when paired up with M.2 NVMe SSD will be still way faster than your old laptop.

    So, it need not be a SUPERIOR model, just modern models will do the job fast.
