I've had this computer (Nitro AN515-54) for approximately a year and a half now. I don't know when the issue began, or if it's always been present, but I've noticed my laptop is consistently at 90C or higher. This is when I am only in a discord video call and have a few internet tabs open, not when I'm actively gaming. I know there are some mild fixes like placing the computer on a cooling pad or raising it off the desk, but is there anything else that can be done? These consistent high temperatures can't possibly be good for the longevity of the laptop.

If it's just getting hot, that's normal. If you are indeed overheating, first check your system settings. Make sure nothing is overclocked and your fans are not manually set to some fixed speed (you can do this on most gaming laptops).

Certainly doesn't seem normal, CPU temp for my both Nitro and aspire laptops are about 40-60 CPU temp when not gaming or having heavy programs. With turbo boost on, running extremely heavy games like Sekiro and God of War can reach up to 90-100C degrees, otherwise not. It seems to me your laptop is certainly overheating, check if fans are working normally or not(they might have dust built up inside as well) and if you are still in warranty, contact seller.
