I recently (today) installed a fresh copy of windows XP onto my acer travelmate 4500 after I accidentally wiped the hard drive (don't even ask). It was all working okay until I installed the WLAN driver (which I had got from the travelmate 4500 drivers page on acer's website), which caused the computer to blue screen. When I next started the computer it blue screened on the windows xp logo screen. I then booted into safe mode, disabled the device in device manager and restarted the computer. The computer then booted up fine. This is VERY annoying as the WLAN is what I like most about this laptop. Does anybody know how to fix this, or if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks.

IT'S WORKING NOW. I swapped a WLAN card from another laptop into it and installed the drivers for that and it works.

Which WLAN card was in it? They shipped with either an Intel card of an Acer card...
