Hi there

My keyboard backlight has stopped working since last nigh.  I noticed that there were some intel updates that were automatically installed since the last time it was working.  Can anyone please offer up some solutions so that i can get this working again.

I have already tried the F8 key that usually turns on and off the light and i cant seem to find any setting in the bios.  The last intel updates were as follows:

Intel Corporation - SoftwareComponent - 18.6.1.1016 (2)
Successfully installed on ‎2022-‎01-‎07

Intel - SoftwareComponent - 1.41.2021.121
Successfully installed on ‎2022-‎01-‎06

Intel - SoftwareComponent - 1.63.1155.1
Successfully installed on ‎2022-‎01-‎05

Not sure if its just a coincidence that this stopped working after these updates.

Please provide any help you can

i managed to resolve this issue by issuing a hard reset which is done by

    1. Please remove all external peripherals, such as external hard drives, printers, memory cards, external ODD (if your computer is with internal ODD, please remove CD/DVDs), dongles, etc.
    2. Power off the computer.
    3. Remove the AC adapter.
Note: Please don’t remove the AC adapter for ASUS laptop TP420IA and UX425IA model. (These models need to plug in the AC adapter to do the Hard reset process.)
    4. Remove the battery (if it is a removable battery pack).
    5. Press and hold Power Button for 40 seconds to do Hard reset.
