My Acer Aspire 3 start up is super slow...

...like 20 minutes.  The computer had been running great since I bought it in 2012.  I've known about the onboard 20 GB SSD drive, but never messed with it; until a few days ago.  I changed the setting from offline to online; gave it a drive letter designation and tried format the drive (I figured I'd use it for storage like my external drives), but the formatting failed.  At some point in the process everything slowed way down;  especially in "Computer Management".  Disk management now takes about an hour just to get to where you see the SATA and SSD drives (and I get 'not responding' if I try to do something).  I figured all the slow running was due to me trying to change the SSD.  I did a system restore yesterday hoping it would reset everything.  It did except the SSD still says "online" and I still have the slow performance issues.  I can't get it set to offline.  Is there some way to do this; or disable the darn thing?  I'm running Windows 10.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

I meant to say just drives.  SATA & SSD is the same drive.

Shut the machine off. Turn it back on and immediately start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Please post a phone photo of your BIOS INFORMATION, MAIN & BOOT tabs if possible.

    Hi @JoeK57,

There may be virus or malware

When your Acer laptop is running extremely slow, it may be caused by malware running in the background — consuming too many system resources (CPU, memory, etc.). Note: it can be Adware that gets injected into your web browser by adding annoying flash ads, for instance.

Remove malware/Virus from your PC in Windows 10
    1. Open your Windows Security settings.
    2. Select Virus & threat protection > Scan options.
    3. Select Windows Defender Offline scan, and then select Scan now.

Download a free partition manager Minitool,Paragon, Aomei,Easeus, ect--- this will show the ssd and its partition--can delete the partition from there, it will be offline and unallocated space.

    Cheers
