Laptop - Acer Nitro - AN515 - 52
Processor: Intel Core i5-8300H
Ram: 8gb
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1050
Hardrive: 1tb SSD.

I've had the laptop for several years now and it has always ran fine.
This week when I tried to load into a game, it randomly switched off. Nothing new or unusual has happened (no hardware or software changes) and I can't seem to figure out why.

The laptop works perfect for everything else except when trying to load into a game, where it just switches off immediately (without making any interactions in game). I can then switch it back on instantly and be back on google in under a minute.

Also, it seems to only switch of when rendering 3d games like league of legends and shadow of war. More 2D like games like dofus are able to run fine without switching the machine off.

When running the burnit tests, I saw that the temperatures were reaching 100, so I got it services, insides cleaned out, put a new SSD in and got new thermal paste applied.

Now when I run the tests, the temperatures to not exceed 80 degrees but the laptop still switches off.

I have updated graphic card drives and all of the windows updates but the issue still remains.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

Edit: the laptop shuts down immediately, I don't have time to click anywhere on the screen in game.

    Hi @Maho68,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

    Hi @Easwar

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help, really appreciate it and hope you had a great new years  :)

I've gone through every tab on the device manager and updated everything that gives me the option to update and all have said the same message of having the best driver available before making the post. Unfortunately, the issue didn't go away.

I've also went onto Geforce and made sure than the latest game ready driver was also updated.
